When you’re feeling mentally and physically exhausted looking after a small, dependent baby life can sometimes seem very grim.

When you look around at other mum’s, they all seem to be coping so well – their babies are sleeping through the night and yours is not. So you think you must be a failure right?

You’re feeling anxious, irritable, overwhelmed – and very, very tired. You daren’t talk about the way you feel or be “real” in case you are judged.

So you suffer alone, sometimes for many months until things finally become too much to bear and you reach out for help.

Cathie and Lena at Baby & Beyond Postnatal & Sleep Consultants have helped a number of mums in recent months who have been chronically sleep deprived and in a very dark place.

With our support, they have improved the quality of sleep for themselves and their babies. After a short time, when the fog of overtiredness has cleared, many of these women have begun to understand that chronic sleep deprivation has contributed to; or masked their symptoms of Postnatal Depression and anxiety.

Feeling safe to finally divulge how they really feel to us has been very liberating to many of these women. To feel heard, validated and understood they have felt empowered to reach out for further help and ask us to refer them through the appropriate channels.
